Nyloplast Christmas Party

I just recently had my work Christmas party. We had it at the Karl House which is most commonly used for weddings and receptions so it is beautifully decorated for the holidays.

All of the managers across the US fly in for the occassion and it is a lot of fun (and CRAZINESS)! For those of us who don't drink alcohol it is very entertaining, since this is when people really open up and you hear a lot of good stories!! :) For the President of our company this was the last Christmas party since he is being replaced so it was a little bittersweet. There was a live dj and some people braved the dance floor. Ryan and I made it out for a slow song but I have banned him from ever dancing at my work Christmas party again since the first year. He was the LIFE of the party that first year to the dismay of his wife!! That is another story all together though so I'll save that for a special occassion. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Borderline Narcoleptic??

I've already gotten some crap about this around here, so I thought I'd let everyone know that I'm slowly sinking into the clutches of Narcolepsy. Brindi and I were in church about a month or two ago singing a stirring rendition of some hymn or another when all of a sudden I realized I wasn't singing the words right. I actually wasn't really singing at all. It was more of a series of varied grunts and sighs put to music. Brindi was out of control laughing at me and some of the people sitting near us were staring. I had fallen asleep while in the middle of singing. I knew I was tired, but not that bad! We spent the rest of the meeting trying not to crack up hysterically while the people were up there speaking. Needless to say, I just sat there silent during the closing song. Had this been an isolated incident, I think it would have eventually faded into obscurity and we all could have just gone on our merry way. But.... The other night as we were sitting down to eat I started to say a prayer over the food. During the middle of it I completely lost track of what I was saying and went blank. I think I started speaking in spanish too because I think I heard a "gracias" or something in there. I'm just glad I didn't faceplant into my chili and end up with 3rd degree burns! I guess if it gets any worse I might have to change professions. Sleepwalking and roofing don't go too well together.

Ryan's Luck

Maybe it's something in the name.... Ryan listens to 750AM everyday as he drives the Atlanta Metro area for his job with Award Roofing. He also registers his name online for all their contests. Well, he just recently won for his 4TH time in less than one year! One of his most recent wins, were tickets to the UGA vs Oklahoma State football game. We went with some of my friends from work and had a blast! That was my first time at the UGA stadium. Much, much different from the small BYU stadium! I have some pictures posted from the game. Lots of fun!

Sunday

Horsley Family Reunion

This August we went to St. George Island off of the panhandle of Florida for Ryan's family reunion. The weather was gorgeous but extremely hot!! Thank goodness there was a swimming pool at the house and the beach close by. You walked from the door to the pool and stayed in the water all day. Too hot to do much else! But... that is the exact kind of weather wanted while at the beach, right!? We didn't get pictures of them, but every morning there were pods of dolphins that would swim along the coast line and we would just sit there and watch. Gorgeous!

Brindi's Family Reunion

Over the 4th of July week, Ryan and I headed to Portland, Oregon for my families reunion. My sister Cami had her fourth baby boy and we all headed out there for the blessing. This was our first trip to Portland and we had so much fun! I love how beautiful and rugged the terrain is. Everyday that week we headed to a new place for a new activity. We went hiking through a lava cave near Mt. St. Helen. My nephews loved the cave and how their voices echoed. It was cold inside so we all bundled up!

We also went and saw between probably 5 and 10 waterfalls in Oregon. They were all so gorgeous and we would hike down to them and the boys would play in the water.

On the 4th of July, Ryan ran a half marathon at the Foot Traffic Flat race on an island in Portland. He headed out with Lani, who was running the full marathon, earlier than a person should be awake to get started at the race. The rest of us got up at a reasonable hour to go watch them run across the finish line. The little boys were already excited for the fun filled day ahead of them and already had their faces painted by 9am!! They loved the fireworks at home later that night and ran us out of sparklers first because they loved spelling their names.
Levi, Calder and Ansel at the race.
